Village Alliance Announces New Online Guide to the Central Village

New York, NY (April 23, 2012)  The Village Alliance Business Improvement District has officially launched a dynamic new destination guide for the Central Village, VillageAlliance.org. 

Billed as the go-to-guide for local shopping, dining, entertainment and events, this clear and colorful new website is a must-see for anyone who lives, works, studies in or visits Greenwich Village. 

New website features include:

“We are very excited to put a new face to our organization and to have the ability to feature artistic, historic and other aspects of the neighborhood that are just plain fun,” said William Kelley, Executive Director of the Village Alliance, “Promoting the idea that ‘The Village Starts Here,’ VillageAlliance.org will focus heavily on the blocks surrounding the gateways to Greenwich Village, including 8th Street, Sixth Avenue, University Place, Broadway, Astor Place and St. Mark’s Place.”

 “The new VillageAlliance.org is a great resource for our customers spending time in the Village,” said Richard Geist, CEO of Uncle Sam’s Army Navy on 8th Street, “not only will they find great deals on the website, but they can also plan a full day’s itinerary in advance.”

The Village Alliance is a not-for-profit organization that has been a leading advocate for the Greenwich Village community for almost twenty years.   As a community-based organization, the Alliance works with area residents, businesses, cultural and academic institutions to ensure the district continues to grow and succeed.  

The Village Alliance mission is to enhance the neighborhood’s quality-of-life by creating a cleaner, safer and more enjoyable environment in which to live, work and visit.  Among the programs the Alliance provides to constituents are supplemental public safety and sanitation services, graffiti removal, facade improvement, marketing and promotions, streetscape enhancements, landscaping and beautification, tourist information and free summer walking tours.
