The Astor Summer Fitness series returns with a range of outdoor fitness classes that are FREE and open to the public.

Presented by Astor Place and hosted by Astor Place gyms and fitness studios including New York Racquet & Health ClubOrangetheory Fitness and New York Sports Club, there is something for everybody, from high intensity cardio workouts to boot-camp to Pilates and much more.

Fitness sessions take place on Wednesday mornings 7:30am and Saturday mornings 8:30am, each session lasts one hour and is free and open to the public, taking place on the Astor Place South Plaza next to the Alamo sculpture, the “Cube”.

Reservations are not required and admission is on a first come first served basis. Each class has a maximum capacity of 15 people.

Saturday June 10; 7:30am

Orangetheory Fitness - Truly a one-of-a-kind, group personal training workout. The result is more energy, visible toning, and extra calorie burn for up to 36 hours. You'll do strength training outdoors on the plaza for 30 minutes, then run back to the studio for another 30 minutes of high-intensity cardio training.

Wednesday June 14; 7:30am

New York Health & Racquet Club - Insanity: Insanity uses MAX Interval Training, which replaces traditional moderate intensity exercises and trades short intervals of intensity for short periods of rest.

Saturday June 17; 8:30am

New York Health & Racquet Club - BURN 45: An intense and fast-paced bootcamp type format that utilizes dynamic core training, changes in rhythm, full ranges of motion, and light cardio with the lengthening and toning aspect of Pilates or Barre classes.

Wednesday June 21; 7:30am

New York Health & Racquet Club - Pilates Mat: A workout that restores muscular balance, strengthens, and stretches the body.

Saturday June 24; 8:30am

Three Jewels - Yoga & Meditation - Join Three Jewels at Astor Place Cube Sculpture for FREE outdoor yoga and meditation! Come as you are! Wearing your work clothes? Perfect! Classes are open to everyone, no previous experience or specific clothing is required. Mats are provided. Snacks and coffee will be served at Three Jewels afterwards!

New York Health & Racquet Club - Vinyasa Yoga: A form of yoga with an emphasis on linking breathing with movement, strength, and form.

Wednesday July 26; 7:30am

New York Health & Racquet Club - Tabata: Short bursts of high intensity exercise followed by short rests. Excellent for fat burning and toning.
