There’s No Place Like Astor Place For Young Artists

Meet the Student Art Competition finalists whose work knocked our socks off.

Students from over a dozen NYC art & design programs entered our second annual Astor Place Art Competition—that’s four times as many as last year. To boot, a majority of entrants were based right here in the Village at New York Studio School, NYU, Parsons, and Cooper Union, where winner Ari Barash is currently finishing his sophomore year. The top honors could have just as easily been one of these stellar candidates.

Get to know them while they’re local at a recognition ceremony on May 7 at 11:00 AM. With a hand from our neighbors at Blick Art Materials, we’ll toast the young artists who are making it, here.
